unit 3 finished project evaluation

Last week 24th - 29th March I finished my magazine front cover and DPS. In the last lesson working on my unit three project I was looking for ways to improve my DPS, as I knew my project was finished it was more of the case of making it look the best I could. This meant moving the text more in line to fit under the pictures so it looked more in centre with the columns.

As you can see in comparison to my last blog where I show my last magazine front cover I have made a lot of progress. I decided that the white text on white background didn't work so well but I was advised to keep it. I included my own method in this by changing half the text to black. I got the idea of my magazine from NME magazine as I had the magazine in front of me I could get ideas front NMEs front cover and apply it on mine. One idea was having my header on the left side of the page rather than the centre.

Here I have used two colours in one sell line. When changing the first letter of the header black and keeping the other letters white I thought it would look odd if I didn't include this rule in the sell lines. The sell lines that i really wanted to stand out I kept them black on the white background as i found this was much more effective. On the right side of the front cover you can see my sell lines weren't going to fit not covering my photo so I had to change them and take words out to make the sell lines easier to read, relating to the header again I also used white text over the dark parts of my models clothing and black text as it went onto the white background. Clipping sell lines down is more effective because it's easier for the consumer to read as they probably won't want to read a sentence before buying it, a few words is more short and snappy.

Here you can see my DPS, at first I thought it would be best to have an old style paper background that worked well with my text but I was recommended to use graph paper instead. At the start of my article you can also see I have placed a drop  cap on the K. This just makes my magazine DPS look more professional.
